Bangladesh is a South Asian country located on the Bay of Bengal, east of India.

Although Japanese may not be familiar with Bangladesh, it is the eighth largest country in the world with a population of over 160 million.

In Bangladesh, where the majority of the population is Muslim, the handling of alcohol is strictly regulated by law.

The Alcohol Control Rules, 2022, based on the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, stipulate separate rules for "sale" and "consumption of alcohol.

If a person is 21 years of age or older, he or she may submit an application for a permit to consume alcohol, and once the permit is granted, the person may consume alcohol.

Until this "Alcohol Control Regulation of 2022" was established, no clear regulations on the use of alcohol had been enacted (in a legal sense!). .
