Renais" was released in 2023 as "Emma Watson's Gin."We received an invitation from the co-founder and president of Renais, Alex Watson (titles below omitted).He invited us to meet and taste the wine at Domaine Watson in Chablis, France, the birthplace of Renesse, in the spring of 2025, on a hillside where the Chardonnay leaves have just sprouted, revealing all the secrets of Renesse!

Domaine Watson stretches across the Chablis hills.

Gin was born in France and raised in England!

The grape pomace from the Chablis winemaking process is distilled and then transported to England for maceration.

A "French-born, English-raised gin" that straddles two countries to complete the process.



This is the craft gin "Renesse" made by Emma and Alex Watson.

We introduced it on DRINK PLANET right after its release in 2023.

Another feature of Lunes is that it is thoroughly eco-responsible.



But if it is ecoresponsible, why go to the trouble of transporting raw materials from France all the way to England? What about OC2 in transportation and local production for local consumption?



With these questions vaguely in my mind, I took an early morning train from Gare de Lyon, Paris, to Burgundy.
