Cocktail culture in the USA is said to be considerably more advanced than in Japan. Naturally, there is a wide variety of canned cocktails, but in recent years the concept and quality has changed even more than the variety. Here is a report from the scene on what it is like!

Canned cocktails are gaining attention in the USA, following the popularity of hard seltzer (alcohol-infused sparkling water).

While canned cocktails themselves have existed for some time, many of them were perceived as sweet drinks, far removed from the taste of craft cocktails.

However, the situation has changed since the lockdown.

It is said that as home drinking spread, more and more consumers realised that the quality of canned cocktails was actually improving.

While there is of course the pleasure of making cocktails at home, canned cocktails do not require any preparation, measuring or clean-up.

Categorised as 'Ready-To-Drink' (RTD) in the beverage world, canned cocktails have become a household name over the past three years or so, thanks to their consistent quality and 'easier enjoyment'.
