pioneers Kaohsiung's bar culture!

Tonic Liu, a bar writer from Taipei, dared to open the bar "MALTAIL" in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan.As the name suggests, its concept is a bar serving original single-malt cocktails.We also spoke with Jessy, a bartender who is a member of the opening staff.

Grand opening is September 2024!

Coming to Kaohsiung from Taipei, the main road, Zhongshan Road, and other major roads are wide and straight, and although there are skyscrapers, the sky that covers the city seems unusually wide.



The climate is warmer than that of Taipei, with a high percentage of sunny days (Taipei has a surprisingly high rainfall).



MALTAIL is located along Zhonghua Road, which runs parallel to Zhongshan Road, in a corner near Kaohsiung Central Park.



Although there are high-end department stores and shopping malls in the immediate vicinity, the alleyway is lined with miscellaneous stores and food stalls, making it the central area of Kaohsiung, a typical Taiwanese area.



Kaohsiung's central area is long from north to south, but it is not so huge.There are a few good bars in the area that you can walk around, and bars in other areas are less than a five-minute cab ride away.So it's perfect for bar hopping, especially compared to Tokyo.Especially compared to Tokyo.



MALTAIL faces Zhonghua Rd. and has a glass-enclosed standing bar on the first floor.



Although the grand opening is scheduled for September 2024, the dark color scheme of the bar blends in well with the atmosphere of the city, creating a chic and relaxed atmosphere.
