What is The Jerry Thomas Project?

For Drink Planet readers, the name “Jerry Thomas” likely rings a bell. This legendary bar, Jerry Thomas Speakeasy, opened in the heart of Rome 14 years ago and has since been recognized in the World’s 50 Best Bars list six times.

When it first opened in 2010, Jerry Thomas Speakeasy drew attention with its innovative concept of reviving forgotten classic cocktails. Over the years, it has led the Italian bar scene, gaining respect from bartenders around the world. Now, under the “Jerry Thomas Project” umbrella, the team continues to expand their endeavours.

Located across from the speakeasy is Jerry Thomas Emporium, where they sell their own brand of spirits, including Vermouth del Professore. In addition, Jerry Thomas Education, in collaboration with Campari Academy, offers bartender training programs focusing on topics like fermentation techniques and coffee. The Jerry Thomas Bar Consulting team not only develops cocktail menus and supports staff training but also provides brand strategy, market research, and sophisticated bar design services.

This year, the highly anticipated second location, Jerry Thomas Bar Room, opened in the Trastevere district, introducing a fresh concept to the iconic brand.
