The name of the restaurant is loaded with deep meaning.
The Thonglor district is home to many of Bangkok's best restaurants, bars, and cafes.Dry/Wave Cocktail Studio opened in January 2024 in a corner of this area. The name of the restaurant, which is a bit strange, comes from .......The word "dry" refers to "solid and immovable objects," such as the large tree that is the symbol of the restaurant and the marble of the counter.Wave, on the other hand, is a fluid object that is always moving.Like yin and yang, these two words represent the elements that govern this world. And as for the studio, it comes from the original meaning of the word "artist's studio," which means a place to meet and learn about bars, cocktails, people, painting, and music.Palm also has a deep knowledge of paintings, and says that the bar counter was inspired by Edward Hopper's famous painting Nighthawks, the front of the bar by Mark Rothko's abstract painting, and the back of the bar by David Hockney's portrait of a married couple. The front of the bar is an abstract painting by Mark Rothko, and the back is an image of a couple by David Hockney. The "wave" of music is another of the bar's main features.Pop, funk, disco, nouveau disco, and any other genre of music is used as background music.Every Friday, a DJ comes in to liven up the floor. The guests also change weekly, and the genres of music vary.
