Corona disaster hits newly opened bars!
Philip Bischoff, who transformed Mahattan, a bar in the Four Seasons (now known as Regent Singapore) in Singapore, into a reputable restaurant.
In 2019, he will be offered the role of bar manager at the same Four Seasons' new hotel in Bangkok.
There was a lot to do before the opening, including deciding on a concept for the bar to recreate the Buenos Aires of yesteryear, as mentioned in the previous part, creating a drinks list including original cocktails, and hiring staff.
Finally, in December 2020, BKK Social Club (BKK Social Club) will open.
However, due to bad timing, it temporarily closed in January 2021 due to a pandemic.
It re-opened in February, but had to close again in April.
This is due to alcohol-related restrictions imposed by the Thai Government's new Corona control measures.
The ban on serving alcohol in restaurants and bars, the shutdown of the shops themselves and even general retail sales were banned.
The sudden appearance of another regulation has left us in a quandary.
The author, who lives in Bangkok, was also perplexed.
During the second wave, a declaration was issued that "alcohol retailing will be banned from tomorrow. I almost panicked when the declaration was issued: 'At the moment, indefinitely'.
In the meantime, I bought beer and whisky in bulk at the supermarket to get by. ......
Let's get back to the story.
At the end of November 2021, when the Corona convergence is in sight, the 'BKK Social Club' will reopen.
'In 2021 it was like riding a roller coaster. It went up and down. ...... We were closed more days than we were open."
