Clynelish is a distillery in Brora, a small village on the North Sea in the north-east of the Scottish Highlands.

The spirits produced here occupy an important position as one of the key malts in Johnnie Walker, the world's best-selling Scotch whisky.

In fact, of the current annual production of about 5.5 million litres, 95% is used for blended whisky and only 5% is marketed as single malt.

Its single malt is characterised by a beeswax-like aroma, which connoisseurs describe as 'waxy', a creamy mouthfeel and a refreshing sweetness like tropical fruit.It is considered a cult gem around the world.

But that is not the only reason why this distillery deserves a special mention.

It is a highly interactive and entertaining experience that is a world apart from conventional distillery tours.
