The second guest in "Special Report: 10 Years in the Taiwan Bar Scene" is Mars Chang, owner-bartender of Taipei's "To Infinity & Beyond," recommended by bar writer Tonic Liu, who is an expert on the bar scene in Japan and Taiwan. He is now 29 years old. We asked him about the past 10 years of the Taiwanese bar scene!

Taipei is saturated with cocktail bars!

The area around the Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station and the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall subway station in the center of Taipei is known as the "Eastern District," an area where the latest trends are being introduced.

In particular, the backstreets of Zhongxiao E. Rd. Sec. 4 and Dunhua N. Rd. Sec. 1 are home to fashionable boutiques and restaurants, and the number of cocktail bars has increased dramatically over the past few years.

(The number of bars has increased so much that they are saturated!)

) Opening in such an area at the end of 2019, To Infinity & Beyond is gaining tremendous support from Taipei's younger generation.

Ranked 52nd in Asia's 50 Best Bars 2023, it is also popular among foreign tourists visiting Taiwan (especially Hong Kong and Singapore).

Owner-bartender Mars Chang opened the bar at the age of 25 and is now 29 years old.

He is also the World Class Taiwan 2021 Champion and a leader among young bartenders in Taiwan.
